About The Position

Max a Mia, an Italian-inspired restaurant in Avon, Connecticut, is seeking a dedicated Pantry Cook to join its kitchen team. The role prepares and presents cold dishes to the restaurant’s standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Pantry Cook supports other kitchen stations during busy service and special events, follows food-safety and sanitation procedures, and contributes to a clean, organized, collaborative kitchen. Open availability is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience as a pantry cook or in cold food preparation in a high-volume restaurant setting is strongly preferred.
Professional behavior and strong time-management skills.
Attention to detail and consistency under pressure.
Strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to follow direction and maintain cleanliness and efficiency.
Open availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Previous line cook experience is a plus.
Comfort working across different kitchen stations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and plate cold appetizers, salads, dressings, and garnishes to the restaurant’s standards.
Handle mise en place, including slicing, dicing, mixing, and assembling cold items.
Support other stations and assist during high-volume service or special events.
Follow food-safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
