About The Position

Wastequip is hiring a Painter to support its Tyler, Texas location. The Painter works in a fast-paced production environment, using an airless paint finishing system to spray machines, manufactured products, or work areas with protective or decorative coatings such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer. The position is on second shift: Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., and Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Pay is $19.58 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential.

Requirements

• Experience using an airless paint finishing system.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery, and/or manufactured products.
• Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.

• Preferred experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from products.
• Apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color.
• Pour coating liquid into a spray container and connect the gun to an air hose.
• Adjust sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
• Spray work surfaces to apply a primer or finish coat.
• Use a brush to coat areas inaccessible to the hand sprayer.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heat and spray wax onto products after testing.
• Remove rust from metal using acid, a wire brush, or steel wool.
