About The Position

Wastequip is hiring a Painter to support its Tyler, Texas location. The Painter uses an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment to apply protective or decorative coatings—such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer—to machines, manufactured products, or work areas. The role is scheduled for second shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., and Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The stated pay rate is $19.58 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential.

Requirements

• Experience using an airless paint finishing system.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery, or manufactured products.
• Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.

Responsibilities

• Clean grease and dirt from products.
• Apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color.
• Pour coating liquid into a spray container and connect the gun to an air hose.
• Adjust sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
• Direct spray onto work surfaces to apply primer or finish coats.
• Coat areas inaccessible to a hand sprayer with a brush.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heat and spray wax onto products after they are tested.
• Remove rust from metal using acid, a wire brush, or steel wool.
