About The Position
The Packer is responsible for product safety and quality while performing packing and production-line duties. The role promotes a safe work environment and follows Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to the employee and coworkers. The position is on-site in Seymour, Indiana, with a 7 AM to 7 PM schedule.
Requirements
- Ability to work with 30–40 lb. material.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Follow Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and coworkers.
- Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or coordinator.
- Pack at the standard rate.
- Operate a punch.
- Load conveyors and flamers.
- Maintain housekeeping on assigned lines and around the machine, including mopping if necessary.
- Remove scrap from around the line.
- Grind and pull plastic as needed.
- Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
- Initial and date box labels.
- Complete unit tickets.
- Perform other work assigned by the Supervisor.
