About The Position
The Packer is responsible for supporting product safety and quality while carrying out packing and production-line duties. The role promotes a safe working environment, follows Silgan safety policies and procedures, monitors products for defects, and promptly reports quality concerns. The position also involves packing at the standard rate, operating a punch, loading conveyors and flamers, maintaining housekeeping around assigned lines and machines, handling scrap and plastic, preparing cartons and unit tickets, and completing other work assigned by the Supervisor. The job requires the ability to work with materials weighing 30–40 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Ensure product safety and quality while performing assigned duties.
- Promote a safe working environment and follow Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and coworkers.
- Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or coordinator.
- Pack at the standard rate.
- Operate a punch.
- Load conveyors and flamers.
- Maintain housekeeping on assigned lines and around the machine, including mopping if necessary.
- Remove scrap from around the line.
- Grind and pull plastic as needed.
- Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
- Initial and date box labels.
- Prepare unit tickets.
- Perform other job-related work assigned by the Supervisor.
