About The Position

Barrett Petfood is hiring a full-time Packaging Material Handler in Little Falls, Minnesota. This onsite role supports manufacturing and packaging operations by moving bulk product, preparing and labeling pallets, and transporting finished goods to the warehouse. The position pays $19.50–$23.00 per hour. Available schedules are Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.; the third shift includes a $3.00 shift differential. The role involves operating a forklift and using the Plex ERP system to locate and track product. Employees inspect bulk product before movement, hang bulk product weighing up to 2,000 pounds on the packaging line, and communicate with packaging operators. Work also includes maintaining FIFO, screening kibble as needed, conducting forklift inspections, completing paperwork, preparing and transporting finished pallets, and checking packaged orders for accuracy. The work takes place in a manufacturing facility and involves standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and accessing elevated work areas, including using a scissor lift. Employees may encounter hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or otherwise fluctuating environmental conditions. Barrett Petfood may obtain consumer and investigative consumer reports for employment purposes, and, if hired, may conduct future screenings as permitted by law.

Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to safely and routinely climb and descend stairs and ladders, including to access elevated work areas and equipment.
Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling.
Ability to maintain balance and stability on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or temperature-fluctuating areas.

Responsibilities

Use Barrett's Plex ERP system to locate bulk product.
Inspect bulk product before movement to ensure its quality.
Scan bulk product onto the packaging line where it will be hung.
Safely hang 2,000-pound bulk product on the packaging line and notify the packaging operator.
Weigh bulk product that was not packaged into smaller bags and report it to the packaging operator.
Ensure FIFO (first in, first out).
Enter product information and print pallet labels in Plex.
Screen kibble as necessary.
Conduct daily forklift inspections and complete the related paperwork.
Wrap and transport finished pallets to the warehouse and stage them for shipping.
Count and check orders as they are packaged for accuracy.
