About The Position

The Packager prepares processed material for storage or shipment in accordance with customer specifications. The role packages material using customer-provided information and standard instructions, prepares skids, operates packaging equipment, coordinates with material-handling personnel, maintains the packaging area, and transports materials as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to routinely twist, bend, stoop, and squat.
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to repetitively reach and grasp.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Package material to meet customer specifications and standard packaging instructions, including stacking, applying protective sheets, banding, wrapping, and applying edge protectors.
• Operate turnstile, down layer, and banding line equipment as needed.
• Prepare skids to customer specifications.
• Coordinate with material handlers, forklift operators, and crane operators.
• Clean and maintain the housekeeping of the packaging area.
• Operate a forklift and/or crane to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and other assigned areas.
