About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery, and it operates throughout the Midwest. The full-time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. The position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. An additional 10–15 hours of overtime is expected each week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $21.00–$26.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay depends on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity, with compensation growth determined by company policies, performance, and individual development. The role is nonexempt and requires passing a criminal background check.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have excellent verbal communication skills.
Have efficient time-management skills.
Have excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Be able to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Be able to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on your feet.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by ZIP code, city, or state.
Stack freight in trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
