About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day ground delivery, and it operates throughout the Midwest. The Full-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 5:00 PM start. The position is expected to work 10–15 hours of overtime per week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $18.00–$20.00 per hour based on experience, plus a shift differential.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The job requires frequent physical handling of freight, including lifting up to 75 pounds and spending at least eight hours on one's feet. Freight may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to spend a minimum of eight hours on one's feet.
• Ability to work with various types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Efficient time management skills.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
• Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
• Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
• Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain company image.
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
