About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery. The Part-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Pay is $18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The role requires physical handling of freight, including lifting up to 75 pounds, and handling varied freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work with varied freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
