About The Position

The Full-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. Available Monday-through-Friday shifts start at either 5:00 PM or 10:00 PM. The position is expected to include 10–15 hours of overtime each week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. The posted pay range is $20.00–$25.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. Compensation increases are based on company policies, performance, and individual development. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company established in 1978. It provides standard next-day ground delivery and employs more than 1,800 people company-wide. The role is based in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have excellent verbal communication skills.
Have efficient time management skills.
Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Be able to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Be able to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Be able to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Be able to pass a criminal background check.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes in a way that prevents damage and uses space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
