About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a full-time Package Handler in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. Work is Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 PM, with 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $20.00–$25.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay depends on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. The position is Paygrade B and nonexempt. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The work involves handling various freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet.
Ability to work with freight that may include hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
