About The Position

Delaware North Gaming is seeking a part-time Overnight Security Guard to work at Hamburg Gaming in Hamburg, New York. Reporting to the Security Manager, the position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members in accordance with New York Gaming Commission requirements and applicable operational standards. Hamburg Gaming is located at the Erie County Fairgrounds and features 940 gaming machines on its main gaming floor and an outdoor gaming patio.

Requirements

• No high school diploma or GED is required.
• Be able to obtain a license from the state gaming commission.
• Be highly motivated and take initiative.
• Be team-oriented and able to work effectively with others.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, climb, stoop, lift, reach, and push; demonstrate strong manual dexterity and lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• Have visual awareness sufficient to identify potential security violations.
• Have hearing ability sufficient to respond to spoken voices, audible alarms, and two-way radios.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Enforce rules and regulations of the local gaming commission.
• Adhere to unit and company alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Report incidents in accordance with departmental and organizational policies and procedures, and report procedural violations and illegal activity.
• Complete departmental log forms, verify that all paperwork is complete, and submit it at the end of shifts.
• Handle guest complaints by using active listening to manage difficult situations and communicating with guests sensitively and with care.
