About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is hiring an Overnight Security Guard for a high-volume trucking environment. The role focuses on access control, data entry, surveillance, and general site monitoring. The guard maintains a visible, professional presence; assists customers, employees, visitors, and guests; monitors the facility for suspicious or unsafe activity; controls access; conducts patrols; monitors alarms and systems; and prepares reports as directed. Duties may vary depending on the customer location assigned.

Requirements

Hold security officer licenses mandated by the state or municipality.
Have at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Have reliable means of communication and transportation.
Have strong interpersonal communication skills and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Be able to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Conduct required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure property removal is authorized under customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
