About The Position

We’re looking for a competent security guard to monitor the premises and protect staff, visitors, and students. The role helps safeguard assets, personnel, students, visitors, and property on the grounds. The ideal candidate has prior experience as a security officer or guard, a sharp eye, and quick reaction time to detect suspicious or criminal behavior, violence, theft, or vandalism.

This is a seasonal role active during the school’s academic calendar year, from August 20 through May 30. The role is not scheduled during school holidays and breaks when students are not boarding. The overnight shift is 9 PM to 6 AM on a rotating Sun–Mon schedule. Pay is $20–$25 per hour.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a security officer or guard.
• Sharp eye and quick reaction time to detect suspicious or criminal behavior, violence, theft, or vandalism.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment through diligent active patrol, access control, and monitoring.
• Secure premises and access points.
• Remain visible and observant, interacting courteously and attentively with staff, guests, and vendors when necessary.
• Respond immediately to distress calls, alarms, and emergency calls involving disorderly or disruptive behavior or persons, and handle incidents swiftly and appropriately.
• Protect premises and personnel by patrolling property and monitoring surveillance equipment and access points.
• Investigate security incidents and other alarming behavior.
• Record observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
