About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for upholding cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the club and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for members and guests. The role includes cleaning and disinfecting common areas, restrooms, locker rooms, showers, the Black Card Spa, and fitness equipment; maintaining floors, trash and recycling, cleaning stations, equipment, and supplies; and reporting safety hazards or facility issues to management. Cleaners also greet members, help maintain a positive club environment, and may receive cross-training to assist with front desk duties when additional coverage is needed. This is a full-time, on-site overnight position at FG Fitness Chillicothe LLC in Chillicothe, Ohio. Work is primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor work to remove trash or clean outside. The environment may include exposure to noise, dust, grease, cleaning chemicals, and mechanical or electrical hazards. The position involves substantial physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, repetitive hand movements, and lifting or moving weights up to 80 pounds. Employees must maintain the ability to administer CPR during a medical emergency. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, reliable, punctual, attentive to detail, honest, and committed to cleanliness and a positive member experience. They must be willing to learn and follow company procedures, able to follow verbal and written instructions, and able to work independently and as part of a team. CPR/AED and tanning certifications must be obtained and maintained within required timeframes. Overnight Cleaners must complete the specified background checks during the first week of hire; continued employment depends on a satisfactory result. Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.
Obtain Tanning Certification within company-required timeframes.
Cleaners must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search.
Overnight Cleaners must complete a full background check within the first week of hire, including a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List, and County Criminal Search; continued employment depends on a satisfactory outcome.
Ability to work on-site.
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements.
Ability to climb unusual heights on ladders and lift, carry, push, or pull moderate to heavy weights up to 80 pounds.
Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in an emergency.
Ability to see and hear in normal ranges, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

Previous janitorial, cleaning, or custodial experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas daily according to Planet Fitness standards and guidelines.
Clean, disinfect, and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, the Black Card Spa, showers, toilets and stalls, sinks, and floors.
Wipe down and disinfect fitness equipment, weights, and cardio machines.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the facility.
Empty and dispose of trash and recycling, and maintain trash cans and cleaning stations.
Refill cleaning supplies, paper products, and soap dispensers, and notify management when inventory is low.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning mops and buckets and emptying vacuum bags.
Perform other cleaning duties as assigned by management.
Post signage for unsafe conditions, such as wet or slippery floors.
Promptly report broken or missing amenities or equipment to management.
Follow the Lost and Found Policy and immediately notify the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager about lost member property.
Follow Planet Fitness cleaning and sanitization protocols.
Greet members in a friendly, professional manner in common areas and help maintain a welcoming club environment.
Perform cleaning duties discreetly and efficiently during open hours.
Assist with front desk duties if cross-trained and the club needs additional coverage.
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED and tanning certifications within required timeframes.
Complete the required background checks and, for Utah locations, participate in E-Verify.
