About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility to support an outstanding member experience and help ensure the safety of members and team members. The role includes cleaning common areas and equipment, maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment, and reporting facility issues to the Club Manager. Overnight Cleaners may also assist members and guests, answer phones, process retail transactions, address member concerns, and monitor club areas for safety and cleanliness issues.

Requirements

Ability to work the overnight shift.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Positive, upbeat attitude and a genuine desire to help others.
Punctual, reliable, and dependable.
Attention to detail and commitment to doing the job correctly.
Ability to work independently and support the team.
Effective communication skills and comfort asking questions when needed.
Ability to learn quickly and apply online and hands-on training.
Ability to stand and move throughout the club continually during the shift.
Ability to communicate in person or by phone continually during the shift.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals during the shift.
Ability to clean and sanitize equipment and facilities frequently.
Ability to bend, twist, and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber machine according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash properly and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products and communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items located high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas, promptly address safety or policy issues, and resolve cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
