About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility to support an outstanding member experience and the safety of members and team members. The role includes cleaning common areas and fitness equipment, vacuuming and scrubbing floors, disposing of trash, replenishing supplies, reporting inventory needs and broken or missing amenities, operating laundry equipment, and maintaining cleaning equipment. Additional daily duties may include greeting members and guests, answering phones, processing retail transactions, supporting sales goals, resolving member concerns or escalating them to a manager, and conducting walk-throughs to address safety, policy, and cleanliness issues. The role requires working the overnight shift and may involve exposure to toxic chemicals and frequent cleaning and sanitizing.

Requirements

Ability to work the overnight shift.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Willingness to become CPR/AED Certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand and move continually throughout the club during the shift.
Ability to communicate continually in person or on the phone.
Ability to bend, twist, and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products and communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and work toward sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk through all club areas to address safety or policy issues and cleanliness concerns.
