About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all facility areas to support an outstanding member experience and the safety of members and team members. The role involves cleaning common areas and equipment, maintaining supplies and cleaning equipment, and reporting inventory needs or broken and missing amenities to the Club Manager. Other daily duties may include greeting members and guests, answering phones, processing retail transactions, addressing member concerns, and monitoring the club for safety and cleanliness issues. The role requires overnight availability, reliable and detail-oriented work, the ability to work independently and with a team, and a positive, respectful approach to members and colleagues. Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred. Planet Fitness provides online and hands-on training, and CPR/AED certification training is provided.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to work the overnight shift.
Basic computer proficiency.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Continual standing and moving throughout the club during the shift.
Continual in-person or telephone communication during the shift.
Ability to bend and twist and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.
Ability to work independently and as a supportive team member.
Effective communication skills and willingness to ask questions when needed.
Positive, upbeat, punctual, reliable, and dependable, with attention to detail and a commitment to respectful interactions.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed.
Communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items located high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities and equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit, and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas, promptly address safety or policy issues, and resolve cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
