About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the club, helping provide a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for members and guests. The role is performed on-site in an indoor environment, with occasional outdoor work when removing trash or cleaning outside. Overnight cleaners must complete a background check within the first week of hire; continued employment depends on a satisfactory result. Cleaners must also submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search. Some cross-training may be provided to assist with front desk duties when additional coverage is needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.
Obtain Tanning Certification within company-required timeframes.
Cleaners must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search.
Overnight cleaners must submit to a full background check within the first week of hire, consisting of a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List, and County Criminal Search; continued employment depends on a satisfactory outcome.
Work on-site.
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements; climb unusual heights on ladders; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 80 pounds; and verbally communicate to exchange information.
Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in a medical emergency.
See and hear in normal ranges, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

Previous janitorial, cleaning, or custodial experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas daily in accordance with Planet Fitness standards and guidelines.
Clean, disinfect, and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, the Black Card Spa, showers, toilets and stalls, sinks, and floors.
Wipe down and disinfect fitness equipment, weights, and cardio machines.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the facility.
Empty and dispose of trash and recycling; maintain trash cans and cleaning stations.
Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and soap dispensers, and notify management when inventory is low.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop and bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Perform other cleaning duties as needed or assigned by management.
Post signage for unsafe conditions, such as wet or slippery floors.
Promptly report broken or missing amenities and equipment to management.
Follow the Lost and Found Policy and immediately notify the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager about lost member property.
Follow Planet Fitness cleaning and sanitization protocols.
Greet members in a friendly, professional manner and help maintain a welcoming, positive club environment.
Perform cleaning duties discreetly and efficiently during open hours.
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED and tanning certifications within required timeframes.
Submit to the required registry search and, for overnight cleaners, the specified background check.
