About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility to support an outstanding member experience and help ensure the safety of members and team members. The role includes cleaning common areas, restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment and Black Card Spa; vacuuming and operating a floor scrubber; disposing of trash; replenishing supplies; dusting high areas; reporting broken or missing amenities and equipment; operating laundry equipment; and maintaining cleaning equipment. The role may also include greeting members and guests, answering phones, processing retail transactions, addressing member concerns, and completing regular walkthroughs to correct safety, policy or cleanliness issues. Team members are expected to follow health and safety policies, report unsafe conditions, and conduct work safely.

Requirements

Ability to work the overnight shift.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Continual standing and moving throughout the club during the shift.
Continual in-person or telephone communication during the shift.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals.
Ability to frequently clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.
Ability to bend, twist and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed.
Communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items located high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas and promptly address safety, policy and cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors, and work safely.
