About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility, helping provide an outstanding member experience and maintain a safe environment for members and team members. The role includes cleaning common areas and equipment to Planet Fitness standards, maintaining floors and cleaning equipment, replenishing supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and operating laundry equipment. Overnight Cleaners may also greet and assist members and guests, answer phones, process retail transactions, address member concerns, and monitor club areas for safety and cleanliness.

Requirements

Ability to work the overnight shift.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Positive, upbeat, and helpful attitude, with a commitment to creating a welcoming member experience.
Punctuality, reliability, dependability, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as a supportive member of a team.
Effective communication skills and comfort asking questions when needed.
Ability to learn quickly and apply online and hands-on training.
Ability to stand and move continually throughout the club during the shift.
Ability to communicate continually in person or by phone during the shift.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals and frequently clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.
Ability to bend and twist and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
Vacuum floor surfaces and operate the floor scrubber machine according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash properly and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed and communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of club areas, promptly addressing safety or policy issues and cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
