Outside Sales Associate Flooring and Design
About The Position
Floor Coverings International Spokane & North Idaho is growing, and we are looking for an experienced flooring sales professional to join our team. Our unique shop-at-home model brings the flooring showroom directly to the customer. Homeowners can compare samples, receive professional design guidance, and make confident decisions without leaving home. This is not a traditional retail showroom position. You will meet with qualified customers in their homes, evaluate their needs, recommend flooring solutions, measure projects, prepare proposals, and guide customers through the buying process.
Requirements
- Professional flooring sales experience
- Knowledge of products such as: Carpet, Luxury vinyl plank and tile, Laminate, Engineered and solid hardwood, Sheet vinyl, Tile, Transitions, stairs, installation methods, and basic subfloor conditions
- Experience measuring, estimating, and preparing proposals
- Strong closing and objection-handling skills
- Excellent communication and customer service
- Highly organized with consistent follow-up
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects
- Willing to follow a structured sales process
- Comfortable using a CRM, tablet, laptop, and sales software
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
Nice To Haves
- In-home sales experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled in-home flooring consultations
- Identify customer needs, style preferences, budget, and project goals
- Recommend flooring products and installation solutions
- Measure project areas and prepare accurate proposals
- Present options, discuss pricing, overcome objections, and ask for the sale
- Follow our proven sales system using company-provided technology
- Maintain consistent follow-up with open proposals
- Serve as the customer’s primary contact during the sales process
- Communicate project details and expectations to the office and production teams
- Build referral relationships and generate repeat business
- Participate in networking, home shows, and community events
