About The Position

Propulsion Controls Engineering (PCE) is a full-service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor with extensive experience in major system overhauls across numerous ports worldwide on various ship classes. This role involves performing major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on diesel marine engines and related marine equipment and systems, following work specifications and technical manuals.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
• Minimum 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred.
• Use of measuring devices (rulers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth mics, scales, etc.), hand tools, and power tools.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 5 years diesel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on diesel marine engines and related marine equipment and systems using work specifications and technical manuals.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
• Maintain open communication with the management team regarding job status, updates, and changes.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and solutions.
• Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics and apprentices.
• Order and manage inventory of parts needed for repairs.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
