About The Position
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC) is hiring a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic to perform the work of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision. The role involves skilled and complex mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components, troubleshooting major problems, and supporting Apprentice Technicians. The position is designated safety-sensitive because its duties involve heavy equipment, machinery, and motor vehicles. The job is with MHC Kenworth-South Denver in Englewood, Colorado.
Requirements
- CDL.
- A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector certifications.
- At least one specialization, such as engine or drive train.
- At least 4 years of experience or vocational training.
- Necessary tools to perform the position.
- Good customer relations and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot major problems.
- Work with and help train Apprentice Technicians.
- Maintain a neat and orderly working area and properly handle company tools.
- Advise the Service Foreman when additional repair work is necessary.
- Maintain favorable relations with customers.
- Participate in training to stay abreast of new technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
