About The Position

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC), a North American Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group, is hiring a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic. The role performs the work of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision, including skilled and complex mechanical repairs and troubleshooting. The technician also supports apprentice training, maintains an orderly work area and company tools, advises the Service Foreman when additional repairs are needed, maintains positive customer relationships, and participates in training on new technology. This is designated as a safety-sensitive position involving work with heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles. The position is at MHC Kenworth-Hutto in Hutto, Texas.

Requirements

CDL.
A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
At least one specialization, such as engine or drive train.
At least 4 years of experience or vocational training.
Necessary tools to perform the position.
Good customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot major problems.
Work with and help train Apprentice Technicians.
Maintain a neat and orderly working area and properly handle company tools.
Advise the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
Maintain favorable relations with customers.
Participate in training to stay current with new technology.
Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
