About The Position

The Journeyman Mechanic troubleshoots major and minor mechanical problems and repairs and adjusts mechanical components. The mechanic receives assignments through oral or written work orders and determines the nature and extent of the repairs needed. Working with moderate supervision, this role independently diagnoses, repairs, and maintains heavy vehicles and industrial equipment to support safe, reliable operation and equipment readiness.

Requirements

• Experience with routine maintenance operations is required.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

• ASE certifications.
• Waste industry experience.
• Completion of college, vocational, or technical training.
• A valid CDL driver license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Keep equipment clean, lubricated, and maintained.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
• Follow workplace health and safety rules and the code of conduct.
• Complete training and assessments required under the training plan.
