About The Position

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC), North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group, is hiring a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic. The position performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision, including skilled and complex mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components.

This is a safety-sensitive position. Requirements

• CDL.
• A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
• At least one specialization, such as engine or drivetrain.
• A minimum of four years of experience or vocational training.
• Necessary tools to perform the position.
• Good customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot major problems.
• Work with and help train Apprentice Technicians.
• Maintain a neat and orderly working area and properly handle company tools.
• Advise the Service Foreman when additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintain favorable relations with customers.
• Participate in training to stay abreast of new technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
