About The Position

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC) is hiring a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic to perform the work of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision. The role involves skilled and complex mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components, troubleshooting major problems, and helping train Apprentice Technicians. The position is designated safety-sensitive because it involves work with heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles where a lapse of attention could cause serious harm. The position is based at MHC Kenworth-Waco, 3331 Greig Drive, Robinson, Texas. Requirements

CDL.
A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
At least one specialization, such as engine or drive train.
A minimum of 4 years of experience or vocational training.
Necessary tools to perform the position.
Good customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot major problems.
Work with and help train Apprentice Technicians.
Maintain a neat and orderly working area and properly handle company tools.
Advise the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
Maintain favorable relations with customers.
Participate in training to stay abreast of new technology.
Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
