About The Position

Join CEDA as an Outreach Intake Specialist! CEDA (Community and Economic Development Association) is a dynamic nonprofit organization committed to empowering communities and combating poverty. We are seeking an Outreach Intake Specialist to join our Energy Services Department and play a pivotal role in connecting Cook County residents to essential energy assistance programs.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree or 2+ years of Outreach or Community Engagement experience.
Valid Driver’s License required within 30 days of hire.
Reliable transportation and ability to transport CEDA Outreach materials.
Bilingual (Spanish preferred).

Nice To Haves

Experience in Energy Assistance Programs or relevant social service operations.
Familiarity with Adobe, Canva, or other design software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site and/or remote Energy Services Program application intake throughout Cook County, ensuring accurate data collection and customer education.
Provide information and resources to ensure a positive experience and efficient intake process via in-person, phone, or electronic communications.
Collect and document customer information in relevant databases with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Utilize active listening and probing techniques to identify customer needs and ensure access to all eligible programs.
Attend and coordinate local events, develop materials and signage, and build partnerships with community organizations to enhance program awareness.
Adhere to a rotating schedule for intake needs across Cook County, including potential evenings and weekends.
