About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) to improve the quality of life for community residents. GCU has a partnership with Angels on Patrol in Downtown Phoenix, which assists families in crisis by providing basic needs and connecting them to community resources. This CSLP student worker position is approved for Community Service, offering services to non-GCU community members. Applicants must complete their FAFSA to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS. The work schedule is dependent on the hours of operation and needs of Angels on Patrol, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year and eligibility to work during the summer.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at GCU in a bachelor’s program or master’s program full-time during fall/spring or half-time during summer.
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
  • Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
  • Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Mentoring a plus.
  • Ability to speak a second language a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish marketing materials for social media platforms and organization events
  • Attend youth and community enrichment events to assist with general operations
  • Organize and complete donation solicitation letters and requests
  • Assist with donor relation campaigns and efforts
  • Other duties as assigned
