Technology Repair & Assembly Technician (CSLP FWS)
About The Position
Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) to improve the quality of life for community residents. GCU maintains a partnership with the Society of GCU CityServe, a Christian outreach ministry that mobilizes resources and partnerships to provide life-transformational solutions to individuals and families in need. This Community Service Learning Program (CSLP) student worker position is approved as Community Service, offering services to non-GCU community members. The work schedule is dependent on GCU CityServe's hours of operation and needs, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year and potential for summer work. Applicants must complete their FAFSA to be reviewed for Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligibility.
Requirements
- Enrolled at GCU in a bachelor’s program or master’s program full-time during fall/spring or half-time during summer.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to speak a second language is a plus.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Mentoring experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Identify items that require repair or assembly from shipments of returned, overstock, or discontinued products.
- Plan and execute repair efforts.
- Revise repair procedures as needed.
- Direct volunteers with repair and assembly efforts.
- Ensure items are acceptable for donation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
