About The Position

Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is a 97-bed facility located in Springfield, Illinois. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois! We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment. The Marketing Outreach Coordinator supports a positive, healing, and family-centered environment for patients and their families throughout the inpatient stay, from admission through discharge. This role serves as a liaison between patients, families, and clinical/administrative staff, helping to identify and resolve concerns, gather feedback, and promote engagement with age-appropriate, therapeutic, and recovery-supportive activities. The coordinator plays a key role in rounding on units, supporting family communication, tracking satisfaction data, and partnering with clinical leadership to strengthen the overall patient and family experience in a manner sensitive to the needs of children and adolescents receiving behavioral health treatment. The coordinator also supports digital and print marketing efforts that raise awareness of the hospital's services while upholding all patient privacy and ethical marketing standards.

Requirements

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Associates degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in health care business development/marketing environment with measurable business development results, and a knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles, preferred.
  • Experience in account management, problem solving and cold calling is preferred
  • Bachelors degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for patients and families to voice questions, concerns, or grievances, and coordinate timely follow-up with the appropriate clinical or administrative team.
  • Collect, track, and report patient/family satisfaction data (e.g., surveys, rounding logs, comment cards) and identify trends for leadership review.
  • Support communication between families and the care team, including facilitating family updates, coordinating family therapy visit logistics, and relaying non-clinical information appropriately.
  • Partner with Risk Management and Clinical Leadership on service recovery for escalated concerns or grievances.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of patient/family educational materials, welcome packets, and unit informational resources.
  • Support discharge experience by coordinating non-clinical logistics and gathering feedback on the overall stay.
  • Help plan and support hospital events, holiday programming, and recognition activities that enhance the patient and family experience.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, including school counselors, pediatricians, primary care providers, therapists, psychiatrists, emergency departments, urgent care centers, law enforcement, juvenile courts, and social service agencies.
  • Track outreach activity, referral trends.
  • Represent the hospital at community events, conferences, and professional association meetings to build brand awareness and professional networks.
  • Monitor local behavioral health trends, competitor programs, and community needs to identify new outreach opportunities.
  • Support internal communication between clinical, admissions, and marketing teams regarding referral source feedback and program updates.
  • Ensure all outreach activities and materials comply with HIPAA, EMTALA, The Joint Commission standards, and applicable state/federal healthcare marketing regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the hospital's programs, admission criteria, insurance/payer relationships, and bed availability process.
  • Assist with crisis or high-need referral coordination during business hours as needed.
