About The Position

The Server provides superior service to internal and external customers and serves food and beverages according to company standards. The role includes greeting guests, explaining specials, helping with menu and beverage selections, checking food quality, responding to complaints, anticipating guest needs, and maintaining a clean, well-groomed appearance while following sanitation and safety practices. Duties may also include inventory, tableside cooking, preparing salads and desserts, presenting and pouring wine, and other assigned tasks.

The position requires working effectively with guests and coworkers in a busy restaurant and casino environment that may involve smoke, crowds, and noise. Team members must be able to move throughout the restaurant and kitchen, stand for extended periods, handle trays and plates, and communicate and manage multiple tasks in a changing environment. Shifts and schedules may vary as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with food, beverage, and wine service.
• Knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses and certifications under applicable Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
• Typically acquired through two years of table service experience.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Meticulous, organized, and accurate work habits; ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Familiarity with a variety of computer systems and applications.
• Ability to manage multiple details and tasks concurrently in a changing environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with employees and guests at all levels.
• Ability to assess how potential solutions affect the overall operation.
• Ability to review and comprehend necessary documentation.
• Ability to transport trays or plates weighing up to 20 pounds and serve food and beverages.
• Ability to stand throughout an eight-hour shift and move efficiently throughout restaurant and kitchen areas.
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods, walk distances, and lift 30 to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work varying shifts and schedules as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers and work harmoniously with coworkers.
• Greet guests promptly and courteously and inform them of daily specials and soup of the day.
• Assist guests with menu and beverage selections using thorough product knowledge and salesmanship.
• Check food quality and respond to guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed, and clean appearance and follow sanitation and safety practices.
• Anticipate, identify, and provide for guest needs.
• Perform inventories and other assigned duties.
• Perform tableside cooking and prepare or serve salads, entrées, and desserts; present, open, and pour wines.
• Take orders, recite specials, and identify menu items for customers.
