The Outdoor Rink Attendant monitors park warming buildings during the outdoor ice rink season, which typically runs from late December through mid-February. The role helps keep facilities safe and secure for ice rink and park users through facility monitoring, light cleaning, and occasional snow removal. Attendants travel between park locations during shifts to open and close multiple warming buildings. Those with a valid driver’s license are eligible for additional specialty pay ranging from $16.93 to $18.58 per hour. Most work is performed in a park facility or outdoors on or near an ice rink, with exposure to snow, ice, and slippery or wet surfaces. The position requires availability on evenings and weekends and may involve working with and calming individuals who are emotionally charged over an issue. Limited lifting of 20 pounds or less is required less than 10% of the time. The role also involves varied technical, complex, and confidential functions, many with deadlines and requiring attention to detail.
