About The Position

This locum tenens Orthopedic Surgeon position provides inpatient, call-only coverage at a Level I trauma facility in Lakewood, Colorado. Coverage is needed for gaps in staffing during November 8–12, 2026, and December 11–13, 2026, with a stated coverage period beginning November 8, 2026, and continuing ongoing. The schedule is 24-hour call from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. The physician will treat adult and geriatric patients, with a case mix of hand injuries and orthopedic trauma; the posting lists five admissions. The facility uses EPIC and has no support staff available.

The physician will cover emergency department hand injuries and transfer center calls, perform hand surgery procedures other than reimplantation, collaborate with the trauma team, and document care in EPIC. Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available. Standard credentialing takes 60–90 days, while emergency privileges may take 1–2 weeks.

Requirements

• Board certified in Surgery of the Hand.
• Active Colorado license or Universal License (IMLC).
• Active DEA certification, required for credentialing.
• Completed a Hand Surgery fellowship.
• EPIC proficiency.
• Willingness to adhere to lodging requirements.
• Clean malpractice and background record.
• Availability for the specified dates.
• Hospital privileges are required.
