About The Position
We are seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon for a Locum Tenens position in Cooperstown, New York. This role involves providing 24-hour call coverage for orthopedic trauma procedures. The average daily patient volume is approximately 10 patients per week. The facility is a Level 3 Trauma Center utilizing the EPIC EMR system. Support staff includes APP Hospitalist coverage during daytime hours and Teal Team coverage during nights and weekends. The coverage period is ongoing, starting October 1, 2026.
Requirements
- Board Eligible or Board Certified (ABOS)
- Active New York License
- Orthopedic trauma experience required
- Level 3 call coverage experience within the last year

- Trauma fellowship preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide orthopedic trauma call coverage
- Evaluate and treat orthopedic trauma patients in both inpatient and emergency settings
- Perform operative and non-operative orthopedic trauma procedures as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Provide 24-hour coverage with an average of 1 call-in per week
