About The Position

Adventure Dental & Vision in Wichita, Kansas, is seeking an Optometrist to provide preventive and restorative eye care. The role involves diagnosing and treating vision-related symptoms and instructing staff on how to assist in patient treatment. The position reports to the Vice President of Optometric Services and is a part-time opportunity for 1–2 days per week, Saturdays, and/or PRN. The stated pay range is $140,000–$165,000 per year, prorated.

The Optometrist delivers patient care using accepted clinical and diagnostic techniques, develops professional vision treatment plans, and supports the practice team by helping foster teammate satisfaction and retention. Other duties that support the business and its mission may also be assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a state optometry license in good standing.
• Have a strong interest in working with children.
• Be able to acquire or maintain a Medicaid Provider number and NPI number.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to handle a diverse workload.
• Be able to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to patient, caregiver, and team needs to deliver high-quality care and service.
• Examine patients, diagnose diseases, and provide effective treatment and necessary procedures.
• Develop comprehensive professional vision treatment plans using accepted clinical and diagnostic techniques to support patients’ optimal vision health.
• Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals, remain available to staff, accept feedback, develop subordinates’ skills, and encourage growth.
• Arrange referrals to vision specialists when appropriate.
• Prepare doctor case files, including medical histories; inform patients about general eye care and eye health at regular intervals; and stay informed about current vision treatment techniques.
• Perform other duties that support the business and its mission.
