About The Position

Academy Kids Dental, Vision and Orthodontics in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is seeking an Optometrist to provide preventive and restorative eye care. The Optometrist diagnoses and treats vision-related symptoms and instructs staff on how to assist with patient treatment. This is a part-time opportunity for 1–2 days per week, Saturdays, and/or PRN. Pay is $500–$650 per day.

The role includes examining patients, diagnosing and treating eye conditions, performing necessary procedures, and developing comprehensive vision treatment plans using accepted clinical and diagnostic techniques. The Optometrist also supports the practice team, arranges referrals to vision specialists when appropriate, and maintains patient case files and eye-care information. Other duties that support the business and its mission may be assigned.

Requirements

• State optometry license in good standing.
• Strong interest in working with children.
• Ability to acquire or maintain a Medicaid Provider number and NPI number.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle a diverse workload.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.

• Deliver high-quality care and service by responding promptly to the needs of patients, caregivers, and team members.
• Examine patients, diagnose diseases, provide treatment, and perform necessary procedures.
• Develop comprehensive professional vision treatment plans using accepted clinical and diagnostic techniques.
• Foster teammate satisfaction and retention by developing strategies to achieve organizational goals, being available to staff, accepting feedback, developing subordinates’ skills, and encouraging growth.
• Arrange referrals to vision specialists when appropriate.
• Prepare doctor case files, including medical history; inform patients about general eye care and eye health at regular intervals; and stay informed about the latest vision treatment techniques.
• Perform other duties that support the business and its mission.
