About The Position

Adventure Dental and Vision in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking an Optometrist to provide preventive and restorative eye care. The role involves diagnosing and treating vision-related symptoms and instructing staff on how to assist with patient treatment. This is a part-time opportunity for 1–2 days per week, Saturdays, and/or PRN. Pay is $500–$650 per day.

The Optometrist will provide professional vision care and treatment, support patient and team needs, and contribute to a practice environment that fosters teammate satisfaction and retention. The position may also involve other duties that support the business and its mission.

Requirements

• State optometry license in good standing.
• Strong interest in working with children.
• Ability to acquire or maintain a Medicaid Provider number and NPI number.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle a diverse workload.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to patient, caregiver, and team needs to deliver high-quality care and service.
• Examine patients, diagnose diseases, and provide appropriate treatment and necessary procedures.
• Develop comprehensive professional vision treatment plans using accepted clinical and diagnostic techniques.
• Build a practice community that fosters teammate satisfaction and retention by developing strategies to achieve organizational goals, being available to staff, accepting feedback, developing subordinates’ skills, and encouraging growth.
• Arrange referrals to vision specialists when appropriate.
• Prepare doctor case files, including medical histories; inform patients about general eye care and eye health at regular intervals; and stay informed about the latest vision treatment techniques.
• Instruct staff on how to assist with patient treatment.
• Perform other duties that support the business and its mission.
