About The Position

Adventure Dental, Vision and Orthodontics in Lakewood, Colorado, is seeking a part-time Optometrist to provide preventive and restorative eye care. The role involves diagnosing and treating vision-related symptoms, performing necessary procedures, developing treatment plans, and instructing staff on how to assist with patient treatment. The position offers a schedule of 1–2 days per week, Saturdays, and/or PRN, and reports to the Vice President of Optometric Services. The listed pay range is $140,000–$165,000 per year, prorated.

The Optometrist will support patient care and team needs, help foster teammate satisfaction and retention, and contribute to the practice’s organizational goals. Other duties that support the business and its mission may also be assigned.

Requirements

• State optometry license in good standing.
• Strong interest in working with children.
• Ability to acquire or maintain a Medicaid Provider number and NPI number.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle a diverse workload.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care and service by responding promptly to patient, caregiver, and team needs.
• Examine patients, diagnose diseases, and effectively treat them, including performing necessary procedures.
• Develop comprehensive professional vision treatment plans using accepted clinical and diagnostic techniques.
• Build a community within the practice that fosters teammate satisfaction and retention by developing strategies to achieve organizational goals, being available to staff, accepting feedback, developing subordinates’ skills, and encouraging growth.
• Arrange referrals to vision specialists when appropriate.
• Prepare doctor case files, including medical histories; inform patients about general eye care and eye health at regular intervals; and stay informed about the latest vision treatment techniques.
• Instruct staff on how to assist in patient treatment.
• Perform other duties that support the business and its mission.
