Aging and Disability Support Counselor
About The Position
Liberty Healthcare and the Kansas Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) are hiring a full-time Options Counselor. The Kansas ADRC is a statewide system that supports older individuals and people living with disabilities, serving as a resource for those seeking information about long-term care and community-based services and supports. The role provides person-centered planning to help people make informed decisions and secure services that enable them to live as independently as possible. The counselor primarily works remotely from a home office and occasionally travels throughout Southwest Kansas, with travel estimated at less than 10%. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with occasional after-hours meetings and events. Annual compensation is $50,000. The package includes 30 days of paid time off for holidays, vacation, sick leave, and personal days; health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; an FSA; a 401(k) plan; other perks; and reimbursement for work-related mileage.
Responsibilities
- Field phone calls and email requests.
- Talk with individuals and their families about their needs.
- Provide information and answer questions.
- Connect people with appropriate services.
- Document interactions, services, and relevant information in computer systems.
- Occasionally travel throughout the region to participate in community events and meet with individuals in person.
