About The Position

Liberty Healthcare and the Kansas Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) are hiring a full-time Options Counselor. The Kansas ADRC is a statewide system that supports older individuals and people living with disabilities. It provides information about long-term care and community-based services and supports, along with person-centered planning to help individuals make informed decisions and secure services that enable them to live as independently as possible.

The counselor primarily works remotely from a home office and occasionally travels throughout Southwest Kansas, with travel estimated at less than 10%. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with occasional after-hours meetings and events. Applicants must live in Southwest Kansas. Annual compensation is $50,000.

Requirements

• Must live in Southwest Kansas.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid computer and organizational skills.
• Friendly demeanor, compassion, patience, and genuine interest in serving others.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in social work, community health, case management, or service coordination.
• Experience with home- and community-based services or long-term care.
• Experience in aging and disabilities services.
• Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Field phone calls and email requests.
• Talk with individuals and their families about their needs.
• Provide information and answer questions.
• Connect people with appropriate services.
• Document interactions, services, and relevant information in computer systems.
• Occasionally travel throughout the region to participate in community events and meet with individuals in person.
• Attend occasional after-hours meetings and events.
