About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team. The role helps customers meet their eyewear needs by providing knowledgeable, attentive service and ensuring glasses are accurately measured, fitted, and checked against optical standards and customer requests. The Optician explains prescription terminology and product offerings, helps customers select frames and lenses, and works collaboratively with the team to deliver exceptional service and develop sales and customer-service practices. The role also represents Warby Parker by educating others about its brand, values, and mission.

Requirements

• Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
• Have a passion for the eyewear and retail industries.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in an understandable way.
• Be dedicated to exceeding expectations for customers and teammates.
• Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Be extremely detail-oriented and able to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
• Be open-minded and committed to ongoing learning.
• Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
• Help customers select frames and lenses based on prescription needs, fit, style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with the team on sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
• Represent the brand and educate others about its values and mission.
