About The Position

The Optician/Retail Sales Associate attracts and retains patients by delivering an exceptional patient experience, encouraging patient retention, and promoting doctor satisfaction. The position fills ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fits and adapts lenses and frames by considering patients’ visual requirements, recommending lenses and coatings, helping patients select suitable frames, and taking optical-related measurements. The associate also guides patients regarding Managed Vision Care and helps ensure the store is effectively merchandised. The role is located in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Requirements

Ability to sell using sales skills and accountability for sales results.
Experience and proven results in a retail or customer service establishment.
Ability to present and implement decisive, creative solutions to opportunities for business growth.
Ability to communicate enthusiastically and concisely to meet or exceed patient expectations.
Attention to detail and follow-up.
High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable experience typically achieved with 1–2 years in a retail environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with personal computers preferred.

Responsibilities

Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames.
Use optical prescriptions in conjunction with patients’ visual requirements.
Recommend lenses and lens coatings to meet patient needs.
Help patients select frames and coordinate frames with prescriptions and patient needs.
