About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled Optical Manager to join their in-house Optical team. This role involves creating excellent customer experiences through professional expertise and product knowledge. The manager will act as a coach and team player, leading Opticians, consulting customers, and fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate is a continuous learner, adaptable to challenges, and contributes to Warby Parker's growth.

Requirements

  • A licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states).
  • 2+ years of experience in a management position.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, exhibiting model behavior.
  • Ability to drive optical metrics and adhere to strict optical standards.
  • Operate with a high sense of professionalism and open-mindedness.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, able to explain technical terms to customers.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to meet all of their eyewear needs.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
  • Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
  • Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
  • Manage a team of Opticians through feedback, development conversations, and leading by example.
  • Uphold exceptional service standards and implement retail experience programs.
  • Report to the Store Leader to anticipate staffing needs and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants.
  • Stay updated on HR policies and procedures to promote a productive and safe store culture.
  • Leverage company resources to increase employee engagement and job satisfaction.
  • Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
