AEC - Ophthalmic Assistant
About The Position
US Eye is a physician-led, patient-centric network of eye care practices providing ophthalmology, optometry, dermatology, and facial surgery services. Albemarle Eye Center provides a range of ophthalmic services across several North Carolina locations, including surgical and routine eye care. The practice is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician to join its surgical practice. The candidate should be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic and positive professional attitude, build strong connections with patients, treat them with warmth and empathy, work well with a team, and learn and apply complex concepts quickly. The role is based in Kinston, North Carolina, and requires travel to other locations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Experience in a professional environment with a strong customer service focus.
- Skills in scribing, patient work-up, vision testing, refracting, medical terminology, assisting the physician in the room, visual field testing, and OCT testing.
- Positive professional attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work as part of a team, and ability to learn quickly and apply complex concepts.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience within the medical field.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient work-ups and vision testing.
- Refract patients.
- Scribe.
- Assist the physician in the exam room.
- Perform visual field and OCT testing.
- Provide patients with warm, empathetic service and help build strong patient connections.
