AEC - Ophthalmic Assistant
About The Position
US Eye is seeking a self-motivated Ophthalmic Technician with a strong work ethic to join its successful surgical practice. The candidate should have a positive, professional attitude; build strong connections with patients; treat patients with warmth and empathy; work well on a team; and learn quickly and apply complex concepts in daily work. The role is full-time, based in Kinston, North Carolina, and requires travel to other locations. The practice is Albemarle Eye Center, which provides ophthalmic services across locations in Edenton, Elizabeth City, Kinston, Kitty Hawk, and Washington. Services include LASIK, laser cataract removal, oculoplastics, glaucoma treatment, routine eye exams, and contact lens fittings.
Requirements
- Experience in a professional environment with a strong customer-service focus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills and experience in scribing, patient work-up, vision testing, refracting, medical terminology, assisting the physician in the room, visual field testing, and OCT testing.
- Positive professional attitude, empathy with patients, teamwork, and ability to learn and apply complex concepts quickly.
