AEC - Ophthalmic Assistant-
About The Position
US Eye is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician for a successful surgical practice. The position travels among Washington, Kinston, Elizabeth City, and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and travel to other locations is required. The successful candidate is self-motivated, has a strong work ethic and professional attitude, builds strong connections with patients, treats them with warmth and empathy, works well as part of a team, and learns and applies complex concepts quickly. The role involves ophthalmic technician work including scribing, patient work-up, vision testing, refraction, use of medical terminology, assisting the physician in the room, and performing visual field and OCT testing. US Eye is a physician-led network of eye care practices providing ophthalmology, optometry, dermatology, and facial surgery services. Albemarle Eye Center serves patients at locations in Edenton, Elizabeth City, Kinston, Kitty Hawk, and Washington, providing services that include LASIK, laser cataract removal, oculoplastics, glaucoma treatment, routine eye exams, and contact lens fittings.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Experience in a professional environment with a strong customer service focus.
- Self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
- Positive professional attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to develop strong patient connections and treat patients with warmth and empathy.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply complex concepts to daily work.
- Skills in scribing, patient work-up, vision testing, refraction, medical terminology, assisting physicians, visual field testing, and OCT testing.
