About The Position

Refocus is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join its multi-specialty ophthalmology team in Salisbury. The role works closely with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to support patient care, diagnostic testing, procedures, and efficient clinic operations. Local travel is required; mileage is reimbursed when using a personal vehicle. A sign-on bonus is offered.

Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
Knowledge of medical office procedures.
Ability to perform indirect activities, administrative tasks, and other assigned duties supporting efficient, high-quality practice operations.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
Proficiency in data entry and typing.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Certification is required to administer eye drops.

Nice To Haves

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification.

Responsibilities

Gather comprehensive patient information to support accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
Conduct preliminary examinations, including visual acuity and pupillary response testing.
Perform diagnostic tests, including OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
Assist ophthalmologists with minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
Manage patient flow in the clinic and imaging rooms in collaboration with clinical staff.
Administer eye drops when certified to do so.
Perform clinical, administrative, indirect, and other assigned tasks that support efficient, high-quality medical practice operations.
